The director of Geoagency (now S.M.Murzagaziev), nominated by the President Kyrgyzstan, heads.
For ensuring of state system of licensing functions and state control for mineral resources at Geoagency the State inspection on mineral resources acts.
In Geoagency the State commission on mineral reservesis assembled.
For consideration of the offers on the basic directions of development of mineral-raw base, definition of uniform scientific and technical policy in the field of study and use of entrails in Geoagency scientifically-technical advice is assembled.
In Geoagency the collegiate organ in a consisting of the director (chairman of collegiate organ), deputy director, chiefs of departments and subordinated divisions for consideration of general directions in economic and administrative activity Geoagency is assembled.
Geoagency has own library, geologic museum and State fund of the geologic information. In fund the information (textual and cartographical), presented as the geologic reports on all basic kinds geologic and explorations of various scales conducted in territory Kyrgyz Republic for all period of its geologic study is assembled. For today in fund remains deposited 14 thousand reports.
Least structural unit in Geoagency of Kyrgyz Republic is the geologic party or squad, which by a regional or thematic principle are incorporated on expedition. Now in structure of Geoagency 5 expeditions and Central Complex Laboratory act. The aggregate number of the employees on 1 september 2001 constitutes -1219 men.
